I have ordered Flexible LED Strip Lights for the interior of my car and i want them to be able to flash when my subs hit, but i don’t want them to blow. i have heard that you can hook them up to the amp but im not quite sure how to do that. if anyone could explain to me how to do this, it would be very appreciated. and i also have a clear backed box so if you could also tell me how to install them in the box that would be great.
How to alternate flexible led strip on and off?
There are some flasher relays (used for emergency flashers, turn signals and emergency vehicle lights) that have double outputs. IE: power goes to one circuit while the other is off and when they flash, the first circuit turns off while the second lights. The diagrams are usually shown on the side of the relay. It would have a power in and 2 power out contacts. (You might need to look at a few at your local auto parts store to find the one you want.) That is how the “wig wag” headlight alternating is done in some police cars.
Be advised that you could only use them for off street shows, as flashing between red and white is illegal except for emergency vehicles.
