As in a example. When i unlock my car my dome light and side door panel lights turn on. I want the Flexible LED Strip Lights to do the same I have 4 LED 12 inch strips with the two wires to hook em up to something. How do i make them work with the interior lights of my car.I don’t advise doing this as you want complete control over when the lights go on.
For that, just splice into the wires going into the cigarette lighter (it has it’s own fuse) and add a switch anywhere you want.
FOR LED DESIGNED FOR 12 VOLTS, CONNECT THEM IN PARALLEL, NOT SERIES!!!!!
If you really want to splice into the interior lights, simply…
1. locate the interior fuse box (it is usually inside the driver and passenger doors)
2. use the car’s manual to find out which fuse is for “interior lamps”
3. splice the LED power wire into the wire going OUT of that fuse.
4. hook up the ground of your LED’s to any metal part connected to the chassis as it’s all grounded.
I used this method to hook up a switch to that fuse, so that the interior lights only go on if I want them to (i can have the doors open and they stay off if i want them to).
How to install flexible led strip on interior of 2010 nissan altima?
I have just recently leased a 2010 nissan altima and i wanted to get flexible led strip lighting for the interior with the music interface. It is hard to install if i never have done i before? Also will it void the warranty? If you can please give me instructions on how to do it please.Street Glow web site and instructions on the packaging. If you break interior parts installing LED’s those will not be covered by Nissan Warranty. Extra wiring gets in the way when your Nissan Technician needs to remove interior trim to preform warranty work. Just a lot of flash and not necessary to make the car go.
